Hello Folks,
It has been a LONG time since I have posted here. I am very sorry. I wish I could say it was due to anything but selfishness but it is not.
My eBay sales have been very consistent. No, I never quite my day job as I was hoping but I really don’t see why. I have streamlined my eBay selling so it take little of my time.
I do all my shopping for items to sell on eBay once per week and I list once per week (scheduled) as well. With all this, I have gotten lazy! Posting on this blog seems less exciting when I am not at my computer as much. Sorry.
The good news is I plan on sharing my success through the Holiday season so I should be, at least temporarily blogging here.
Yes, I still use dropshipping sucks and still try to promote that on this blog.
Here are some quick numbers:
I am now averaging $450+ per week in profits on eBay.
I am now averaging $700+ per week in sales on eBay.
I am now selling around 20 items per week on eBay.
The only downside is that I still have found very few long term items. But that is ok, I like shopping for new things to sell.
Well, WISH ME LUCK and the same to you. I will start blogging here frequently soon for the holiday season.
Ok, I know, we all just have to face the fact that I am not blogging that much anymore. I am vacationing in TN with the family and trying to limit my computer time. Since the blog is more for fun than for profit I have to keep my time on the blog site to a minimum.
Yes, I am still an eBay seller! Things are going well. Still doing the Drop Shipping Sucks stuff. All is well. In fact, even though I STILL have my day job the eBay sales have allowed us to take this little vacation.
I have come to the conclusion that eBay is not going to make me rich or even able to retire. I am doing well, but the stability still isn’t 100% there. But this is very good for now. Doing eBay is fun and if it earns me nothing more than a couple of vacations and some extra spending $$ each year, I can live with that!
It has been a long time since I have posted here and I am sorry. I am continuing on my journey through eBay and I think I have peaked. I am doing well. I am making money. I still give great praise to Drop Shipping Sucks (please use my affiliate link).
The problem I am having is expanding. I am at a critical point. If I want to expand my eBay adventure I am going to have to work much harder and many more hours. I am going to have to look for new niche items and I am going to have to really ramp up my sales.
As I have played with in the past, I am SERIOUSLY considering venturing outside the bay. I think this would be the easiest next step. Looking where else I could sell, not what else.
I really have not established a solid niche for myself. I have kept with selling anything I could buy cheap. But I think the light in that is that when buying cheap I can sell just about anywhere. After all, if I can sell on eBay I can sell on Amazon and other places, right?
I have been out of town for a while helping some friends with some tough issues they were facing. Not only have I not been blogging, I have not been eBay selling either.
I hope to post some updates soon for my handful of readers. I am jumping back onto eBay now!
Well, I have been running my “Have You Made Money on eBay Using Drop Shipping” poll for a few weeks now and I am both surprised and also not surprised.
I am surprised that 6 people have said YES that they have made money on eBay using a dropshipper. I am not surprised that more than 2x that amount, 14 people, have said NO that they have not made money using a dropshipper to supply their eBay auctions.
But I am curious. I want some people who answered yes or who answer yes to submit a comment and let us know how you did it. What product you sold, what drop shipper you used. You don’t have to tell everything because nobody wants others stealing their sources.
I am very interested. Drop shipping did not work at all for me with DOBA or anyone else. I now subscribe to Drop Shipping Sucks (please use my link).
So, if you are an ebay seller who has successfully used drop shipping please comment and let us know! Thanks!
You know I am starting to wonder if eBay will soon put a ban on drop shipping. It seems that now many buyers are having trouble with drop shipped goods not arriving or not arriving on time.
I am not a fan of drop shipping (buy Dropshipping Sucks through my link!) for my ebay sales, but I do not think eBay should ban it. I think that all sellers who list an item with drop shipping as the source should have to list the “Item Location” as the actual location and there should be a little “DS” next to it to indicate that this item will be drop shipped. Then, people know what they are getting into.
This is just a quick note to let my readers know that eBay is currently offering 50% off on 1 and 3 day auction listings. This means that as an eBay seller you will pay 50% less on your listing fees. This can be a big savings especially if you have some large ticket items.
I recently came across some wireless microphones that sell for quite a bit and was planning on waiting until May to list them but I think I will give them a shot this week.
IF you look to the left of this page you will see a poll. I am interested in knowing if you have made money using dropshipping on eBay. So you know, I plan to share my findings with Christopher Benard!
So far the vote is 6 to 1. 1 person has done it!! I wish they would share their secrets with me. That is a hint.
Did you think I was dead? No, I was just busy! But I have some time now because this is a slow time for me on eBay. After an amazing Christmas season where I think the slow economy actually helped my sales, things have dropped off considerably. But I am not concerned. I am using my dropshipping sucks skills to buy what I can and be ready for March!
Last March is when things really took off after the holidays. I did pretty well after the holidays last year too. But this year with the economy what helped my Christmas sales is hurting my post Christmas sales. During Christmas time everyone was on eBay because everyone wanted a DEAL. Everyone wanted to save some money and spend a little less. Now I think everyone is shopped out. Everyone is in savings mode.
It is a little painful, but again I will be able to ride it out and really cash-in come March.
I have been able to find a few great items to resell:
4GB SD Cards for $1.66 which will be great to sell to people who got Digital Cameras for Christmas and want to use them for the summer.
7″ Digital Photo Frame for $16.40 which I can sell along with the SD cards
A huge lot of 96 various Nintendo Wii games. Some of them are not as popular, but I got all 96 games for $504. This is a big investment for me, but I see me easily doubling my investment.
As you can see, I am ready and I am not just using the dropshipping-style techniques Christopher taught either. I am still using the techniques for buying products to sell on ebay, but I am not just buying one item at a time after it sells anymore.
I just wanted to give my fans a quick update and to let them know that I still have a heartbeat. WISH ME LUCK!
What a great time of year this is. Not only are people buzzing with the spirit of the holidays but people are shopping like mad!
My eBay sales have indeed rocketed even with the increased competition. There are definitely more eBay sellers right now.
I have been able to sell tons of toys I bought throughout the year (using DropShipping Sucks). Ok, maybe not tons. But in my eBay stats the “Sold” shows 89 and the profits have been around 10% higher than usual.
On the other hand, I have had a lot of trouble selling the “Lost” merchandise I have. I was able to buy some stuff related to the TV show “Lost” for a very low cost. I assumed it would sell much better than it has though. I will probably need to hold on to it until the show is back on in Jan 2009 though. It is just not selling.
One thing that is selling really well are the wireless cameras with wireless montiors I bought. They are selling consistantly for over $65 which is far more than the $18 I bought them for a few weeks ago! Also, all the toys I have are flying off the virtual eBay shelf.
But toys, as expected, are doing the best. The Little Pet Shop toys I got are going hot although I do not make as much on those. Also going hot are the Nintendo Wii knockoffs. No, they are not just like the Wii but they are close and for the selling price of $60 they are a deal (so buy some!).
I have to run. I have to get to the post office before work. Wish me luck and the same to you!
