About This Blog
This blog was created to chronicle my experience selling on eBay using drop shipping and other resources I find along the way. I am starting with a drop ship company called DOBA since they have offered a 7-day free trial.
I will not only review DOBA but I will let you know about other drop shippers I join along the way. Wholesalers too if I get that far!

Just a little update. This blog may take a slight turn to the wholesale side if I cannot find anyone to drop ship products for a competitive price. Just one day into my DOBA trial and I am already a bit discouraged. It is impossible for me thus far to find anything I can sell for a profit.
I hope to keep this blog as unbiased as possible so I can help others with their eBay success as well as write about my success. Hopefully I will be successful.

Another update. Better late than never I suppose.
I have moved on from DOBA and tried Salehoo and Drop Shipping Sucks. They’re both good in my opinion, so if you want to try them click on one of my affiliate links and join up. Although I do get some money for you buying they have nothing to do with my recommendation. They are both good programs.
I do not use Salehoo any more because I just found that dropshipping sucks is easier for me to make money with for now anyway. I might try Salehoo again some day soon.
So, this is a blog about my trials with DSS for now. Maybe in the future it will be with doing some importing or something. I do not think I will ever try drop shipping again. When you dropship on eBay it just seems there is no money to be made. But, I will never say never because who knows what I might discover. If someone has some good drop shipping sources to recommend then please post them in the comments and I may give them a try. Maybe.

Hi!
I just wanted to say that I enjoy your blog. I have just ordered DSS and will be putting to use some of the ideas that are there. I thought it might be cool to keep each other informed on how we’re doing.
I just sold 2 items this week that I already had in my home and made a fairly good profit off of two items. So, I can’t complain. However, I want to sell more and this is where Chris’ guide comes in handy. Keep up the good work and good luck on your endeavors.

Cool. I have been doing well. I really enjoy it. I also use the advise to put the little no drop shipping button in my auctions and it has seemed to make 2 sales! Nothing amazing but hey it is more money in my pocket.

Every penny counts! In addition, I’ve decided to also ask friends and family for items to sell as many people in my family want nothing to do with making their own page. I find it works well because they already know me and feel comfortable selling things through me. If you’re not doing that, it may be an idea. Of course, you get final say on what you’re willing to sell. No need to get saddled with a whole bunch of unsellable objects.

Hi, dropshipebayer! I’m really enjoying your blog!
I had a 30-day trial to DOBA and cancelled it after a week because of the same problems everyone else seems to have — not being able to find products to sell to make a profit on eBay. I did manage to make a sale on one product, but then the drop-shipper was out of stock after having had about 300 of them a few days before and I had to refund the customer her money plus the fees that PayPal tried to dock her for the money transfer back into her account. Don’t get me started on PayPal and their fees!
So, I heard ProductSourcing.com’s advertisement on eBay Radio, signed up for their free trial and then upgraded to what I thought was a great deal at 29.95 a month before discovering that they WERE DOBA — AGAIN! What a sneaky trick and shame on eBay Radio for granting them advertising time on their radio program under both the DOBA and ProductSourcing.com names without stating that they are one and the same. But, hey, I figure I am getting a better deal at 29.95 a month than I would have taking DOBA’s 59.95 a month plan. I had the same deja vu feeling you did when perusing the site for product and then I checked out the addresses of both companies. That’s how I discovered they were the same. Then I came across your posts after doing a Google search. Funny, they didn’t bombard me with phone calls like they have everyone else, maybe because I don’t live too far from Orem myself. I think I caught the guy who called off guard when I asked if they ever gave tours of their facility there! Anyway, I only got the one marketing phone call and that was it. Lucky, I guess.
Well, for now I’m just gonna use some of ProductSourcing’s merchandise to supplement my own inventory of used items and collectibles. I’ve learned a few tricks on my own about drop-shipping since my initial experience with DOBA. Mostly, I’ve learned to do market research and I’ve drastically changed my own mindset about selling. I’m learning not to focus so much on the profit on each individual item, but at my profit as a whole. I’m not going to make a profit every time on each item. Sometimes I make a huge profit on one item, especially the collectibles, and sometimes I just break even. Sometimes I’ve lost money on an item and those I go back and look at and try to figure out why that was and what changes I can make the next time. Even the big guys like Wal-Mart take losses and have their $1.00 sale bins and sell the surplus they can’t sell to liquidation houses. Especially in this economy now.
So, I’ll be monitoring my business on a monthly basis and seeing where I need to make changes. At the end of the year I’ll see what overall profit has been and what changes I need to make for the coming year. Right now, I’m selling a mixture of second-hand, liquidation and drop-shipped items. I’m not going to quit, even though things have gotten a little slow lately. Some of that is my own fault for getting discouraged and lazy about putting my listings up. I’m changing my strategy and mindset. I can’t sell in a state of desperation about whether I’m gonna to make enough to pay my bills. My gosh, no store could do that and expect to sell anything! Your customers would pick up on that negative energy and make a bee-line for the door and never come back! And they’ll do that online too. Great customer service is a must.
So, I’ll be watching your blog and I might get your book. For me, I just enjoy selling online and want to give my customers good deals like I’ve found over the years. I love a good deal as much as anyone else! Keep up the good work on your blog! It’s very informative! Feel free to visit mine as well, if you’d like! Thanks!
