Making Money on eBay with Drop Shipping

I have quit eBay and am now drop shipping!

Posted by dropshipebayer on April 1, 2010

It has been a long time since I posted here and that is really because I have become somewhat of a hypocrite.

As you know by looking at my blog, I was very into a site/product called dropshipping sucks and promoted it here (with my affiliate link) as a way to spread the word and make some money.

I used the Better Sources guide sold at dropshippingsucks.com to make money on eBay and really was excited to had found the answer to my work from home needs.

However, ever since December 2009 I suddenly stopped making money on eBay and found myself once again attracted to drop shipping.  I am really surprised and excited to announce that Christopher Bernard was wrong!!  Drop shipping works well, even on eBay!

I made more money in five days using drop shipping on eBay than I did in my whole career using the Better Sources guide (dropshipping sucks)!

I was finally able to quite my day job and have even moved on from eBay.  I now work full time for a drop shipping company.

I cannot believe I was so wrong and was so fooled by the nonsense I had been taught.  Listen to me, drop shipping is the best and easiest way to become a millionaire in a short period of time.  The real truth is, drop shipping and eBay work awesome together.  They are a match made in heaven.

I LOVE DROP SHIPPING ON (AND OFF) EBAY!

Oh wait.  I just realized something.  It is April 1st, also known as April Fools Day.  And guess what?  You have been fooled!  Did I get you?

I still hate drop shipping, still sell on eBay, and still strongly recommend dropshipping sucks (Better Sources).  So, check it out and please use my affiliate link, that way I make money!  :-)

Comment and let me know if I had you going!  I am sorry for my limited blogging however.  With more success seems to come less time to blog.

Guess What – I’m Not Dead and Neither are My eBay Sales!

Posted by dropshipebayer on November 16, 2009

Hello Folks,
It has been a LONG time since I have posted here.  I am very sorry.  I wish I could say it was due to anything but selfishness but it is not.

My eBay sales have been very consistent.  No, I never quite my day job as I was hoping but I really don’t see why.  I have streamlined my eBay selling so it take little of my time.

I do all my shopping for items to sell on eBay once per week and I list once per week (scheduled) as well.  With all this, I have gotten lazy!  Posting on this blog seems less exciting when I am not at my computer as much.  Sorry.  :-(

The good news is I plan on sharing my success through the Holiday season so I should be, at least temporarily blogging here.

Yes, I still use dropshipping sucks and still try to promote that on this blog.

Here are some quick numbers:
I am now averaging $450+ per week in profits on eBay.
I am now averaging $700+ per week in sales on eBay.
I am now selling around 20 items per week on eBay.

The only downside is that I still have found very few long term items.  But that is ok, I like shopping for new things to sell.

Well, WISH ME LUCK and the same to you.  I will start blogging here frequently soon for the holiday season.

eBay is ok for today.

Posted by dropshipebayer on April 27, 2009

It has been a long time since I have posted here and I am sorry.  I am continuing on my journey through eBay and I think I have peaked.  I am doing well.  I am making money.  I still give great praise to Drop Shipping Sucks (please use my affiliate link).

The problem I am having is expanding.  I am at a critical point.  If I want to expand my eBay adventure I am going to have to work much harder and many more hours.  I am going to have to look for new niche items and I am going to have to really ramp up my sales.

As I have played with in the past, I am SERIOUSLY considering venturing outside the bay.  I think this would be the easiest next step.  Looking where else I could sell, not what else.

I really have not established a solid niche for myself.  I have kept with selling anything I could buy cheap.  But I think the light in that is that when buying cheap I can sell just about anywhere.  After all, if I can sell on eBay I can sell on Amazon and other places, right?

Wish me luck.

Will eBay BAN Drop Shipping?

Posted by dropshipebayer on February 13, 2009

You know I am starting to wonder if eBay will soon put a ban on drop shipping.  It seems that now many buyers are having trouble with drop shipped goods not arriving or not arriving on time.

I am not a fan of drop shipping (buy Dropshipping Sucks through my link!) for my ebay sales, but I do not think eBay should ban it.  I think that all sellers who list an item with drop shipping as the source should have to list the “Item Location” as the actual location and there should be a little “DS” next to it to indicate that this item will be drop shipped.  Then, people know what they are getting into.

Quick Note: Take my eBay Dropshipping Poll

Posted by dropshipebayer on January 16, 2009

IF you look to the left of this page you will see a poll.  I am interested in knowing if you have made money using dropshipping on eBay.  So you know, I plan to share my findings with Christopher Benard!

So far the vote is 6 to 1.  1 person has done it!!  I wish they would share their secrets with me.  That is a hint.

Slow eBay Sales Season, but I am Ready for March.

Posted by dropshipebayer on January 14, 2009

Did you think I was dead?  No, I was just busy!  But I have some time now because this is a slow time for me on eBay.  After an amazing Christmas season where I think the slow economy actually helped my sales, things have dropped off considerably.  But I am not concerned.  I am using my dropshipping sucks skills to buy what I can and be ready for March!

Last March is when things really took off after the holidays.  I did pretty well after the holidays last year too.  But this year with the economy what helped my Christmas sales is hurting my post Christmas sales.  During Christmas time everyone was on eBay because everyone wanted a DEAL.  Everyone wanted to save some money and spend a little less.  Now I think everyone is shopped out.  Everyone is in savings mode.

It is a little painful, but again I will be able to ride it out and really cash-in come March.

I have been able to find a few great items to resell:

4GB SD Cards for $1.66 which will be great to sell to people who got Digital Cameras for Christmas and want to use them for the summer.

7″ Digital Photo Frame for $16.40 which I can sell along with the SD cards :-)

A huge lot of 96 various Nintendo Wii games. Some of them are not as popular, but I got all 96 games for $504.  This is a big investment for me, but I see me easily doubling my investment.

As you can see, I am ready and I am not just using the dropshipping-style techniques Christopher taught either.  I am still using the techniques for buying products to sell on ebay, but I am not just buying one item at a time after it sells anymore.  :-)

I just wanted to give my fans a quick update and to let them know that I still have a heartbeat.  WISH ME LUCK!

I Love Selling on eBay Before Christmas!

Posted by dropshipebayer on December 2, 2008

What a great time of year this is.  Not only are people buzzing with the spirit of the holidays but people are shopping like mad!

My eBay sales have indeed rocketed even with the increased competition.  There are definitely more eBay sellers right now.

I have been able to sell tons of toys I bought throughout the year (using DropShipping Sucks).  Ok, maybe not tons.  But in my eBay stats the “Sold” shows 89 and the profits have been around 10% higher than usual.

On the other hand, I have had a lot of trouble selling the “Lost” merchandise I have.  I was able to buy some stuff related to the TV show “Lost” for a very low cost.  I assumed it would sell much better than it has though.  I will probably need to hold on to it until the show is back on in Jan 2009 though.  It is just not selling.

One thing that is selling really well are the wireless cameras with wireless montiors I bought.  They are selling consistantly for over $65 which is far more than the $18 I bought them for a few weeks ago!  Also, all the toys I have are flying off the virtual eBay shelf.

But toys, as expected, are doing the best.  The Little Pet Shop toys I got are going hot although I do not make as much on those.  Also going hot are the Nintendo Wii knockoffs.  No, they are not just like the Wii but they are close and for the selling price of $60 they are a deal (so buy some!).

I have to run.  I have to get to the post office before work.  Wish me luck and the same to you!

Selling on eBay this Christmas

Posted by dropshipebayer on November 9, 2008

Chris posted another article, so here is the copy and paste.  Note: I have replaced the DropShipping Sucks link with my affiliate link.  That is all I have changed in the article.

The most exciting time of the year for eBay sellers is here. There is no doubt that the period between Nov 1 – Dec 23 is the best time to sell on eBay. The “Holiday Season” is where 66% of many eBay seller’s profit is earned for the entire year. That means if an eBay seller were to make $100,000 in a year, $34,000 of it was made in the first 10 months of the year, and $66,000 of it in the last 2 months. And, while most of us aren’t going to make $100k this year selling on eBay, we can enjoy some easy cash to help reduce the holiday cash crunch.

Who couldn’t use an extra $500 – $2000 this Nov/Dec?
When all you need is an eBay account, a PayPal account (both free), and a good source of products to sell on eBay – why not make some extra money!

During the first 10 months of the year you have to be very careful. You have to do much research to make sure a particular product is a good product to sell on eBay. During the “Holiday Season” on eBay you do not have to do nearly as much. If you have access to a good source for eBay products then all you have to do is find some name brand toys or some discount electronics or maybe a unique novelty item and you’re selling. It is amazing how much stuff sells on eBay during the period around Christmas, that doesn’t sell well on eBay throughout most of the year.

So, if you’ve ever considered selling products on eBay or even starting your own eBay business then now is the time to act. This “Holiday Season” is going to be hotter on eBay than ever. With more buyers looking to save money they will turn away from the mall and the retail chains and instead go to eBay for a good deal.

If you need a good source for products to sell on eBay I would recommend you visit Products for eBay at http://www.ProductsForEbay.com They have a little survey that will help you find the right place to find products. Or, if you’re interested in dropshipping, I always recommend people take a look at “Drop Shipping Sucks” — my website dedicated to alternatives to dropshipping.

Good luck and happy holidays!

Thank God – It Was an eBay Fluke!

Posted by dropshipebayer on October 1, 2008

I had a bad week recently.  Really bad.  I barely made a profit on eBay for the week and was feeling pretty lousy.

I was unsure if it was my items, eBay, or the failing USA economy.  As it turns out, it was me as I had expected and hoped.  I just got greedy and went for some bad products.  Problem corrected.

I was recently asked about my intentions to quit my day job since I have considered this option in the past.  I am not currently considering it.  Especially after my recent low-profit scare!  I still need the stability of my real job and, quite frankly, with the economy they way it is I would just prefer make all the money I can while I can.  Who knows where we will be 12 months from now.

Wish me luck!

And remember, use this link and go buy DropShipping Sucks.  It is what I used to get started and you should too.  Plus, when you use my link I earn money.  [smile]

eBay Sales Going Strong, but I am Getting Lazy!

Posted by dropshipebayer on August 15, 2008

It has been a while since I wrote.  Last time I was celebrating a big day.  My BIGGEST day!  Today, I am just writing because I am having eBay euphoria.  I realize something.  I am one of the few.  One of the people who set out to sell on eBay and went through all the pitfalls and am still on and still making money.

Kudos to me.

BUT, this week I did something I told myself I wouldn’t do.  I cheated.  I said I would not find what other’s are selling and just copy it.  But I did, and it is going well!

As part of Chris’ Better Sources software we can see a blog where he (very infrequently :-( ) posts information on trends, etc.  Well this past week he posted about some wireless keyboards he found and told us where to get them.  He then also showed some current eBay auctions and it looked good to me.

So, I picked up 7 of the keyboards and got them for $6.00 each and have been happily selling them for $26 – $38 each.  Not a bad markup.  But I do have some remorse.  I feel instantly lazy.  While I have been using the techniques in the Dropshipping Sucks guide (please, use my affiliate link!) and using the Better Sources software to find products, it was so easy just to have Chris tell me what product to sell and where to find it.  Now, I find myself checking the member’s blog every day and to my dissapointment there has been nothing more.

To me it is kind of interesting from a psychology standpoint.  Here I am doing well and have become a self-proclaimed expert at finding products myself, but the second someone hands me one I just want more and more.  So, Chris, POST MORE!

Well, I suppose I should get back to finding products for myself.  Wish me luck!
